We did it, our first family holiday and it was amazing. I’ve put up A Single Moms Guide to Flying with Twins, so check that out if you would like to know how our flight went. Today though, I’m going to share with you what we got up while we were away and some of the photos from our first Two of Them One of Me Travels in Portugal.
Today we spent our morning chilling by the pool and slowly getting ready for the day. In the afternoon we hopped on the shuttle bus from the hotel to the marina. At the marina we had lunch at the News Restaurante which I thought was delicious. I’m not sure the twins really liked it, but they enjoyed the arcade which was right opposite.
The second day we had breakfast at the complex of shops just five minutes away from the hotel. I’m annoyed I can’t remember the name of it, but it was run by a wonderful family and the food was delicious. After breakfast we took a 35-minute walk to the beach and spent an hour there. We then walked back over to the marina where we did a spot of shopping. We also had lunch at UINKO grill House and Bar, this too was lovely. The twins even thought so. We also done the 35-minute walk back to the hotel, the twins loved all the fitness stops on the walk.
We loved the family run café so much, we returned. We also walked back over to the marina. It was the most walking I’ve done in about 2 years, I’ll be honest. We strolled through the marina this time, taking in the surroundings. Ayden and Avia took control of the camera and got some lovely shots. We spent a few hours there buying gifts and eating ice creams at a place called Sorbet d’ Amour 1935. I’d clearly had enough of the walking so we caught the shuttle bus back to the hotel where the twins had a much-needed siesta. As it was our final full night, we had a chilled evening. We walked over to shops, cooked and had an evening stroll. A bird sat on Ayden’s shoulder. I wish I would have been prepared enough to capture on camera, it would have been ‘You’ve Been Framed’ gold.
We travelled back on our fourth day. But, I’d definitely return and for much longer too. Vilamoura was clean and very child friendly. There’s loads more for us to discover but I think it was a great way to spend our first holiday. Short and sweet.
